Boeing 787-8 RR Trent 1000 dry motoring
Motoring a RR RB221 Trent 1000, to check for fuel and oil leakage.
Like the GEnx, the electric starters allow you to clearly hear the raw engine noise and airflow rushing though the compressor inlet.

Boeing 787-9 GEnx Run up

Starting a GEnx-1B after some maintenance, to check everything is doing well. When the electric starters engage, you can clearly hear the noise of the compressor and airflow, not covered by the noise of the air starter.

Quick engine run-up for an oil tube connection leak check. Cold start, and acceleration up to 50% of N1 to ensure sufficient oil pressure in the system, for the leak check.
Boeing 777 Escape slide deployment test

Test conducted to ensure that the slide inflates as it should. This is done on equipment that has to be replaced for potential, and goes to the shop anyway. The red crosses on the ground are different bets, where the slide would touch the ground! :)
777 Primary Flight Controls Test (accelerated 6x)
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.7 лет назад
You can see the plane performing a self-test of its Primary Flight Control system (PFC), for the tail. This test is initiated via the Maintenance Access Terminal, and the plane check all its control surfaces movement by itself. Every actuator is tested independently. Video is accelerated 6 times.
GE90-90/94 Smoky engine start
Просмотров 12 тыс.7 лет назад
Firing up a new GE90-90/94, freshly installed! The smoke comes from the preservation oil burning at the first start of the engine. It usually makes a big cloud of smoke behind the plane, but the tower is aware that it can happen at the maintenance facility.. so they don't send the fire trucks, unless we're in real trouble and call them!
777-300ER High power run
Просмотров 6 тыс.7 лет назад
Doing a high power engin run-up for balancing check (N1 vibrations) on a GE90-115B. The engine is warmed up for some minutes, then power is set. First check at 50% N1, then 80% and 100% N1. The other engine is set to approx. 60% N1 to balance thrust (watch the nose gear when the tested engine is at 100%!)

Le vol prévu initialement a dû être annulé cause météo, mais nous sommes quand même partis faire quelques tours de piste. C'est toujours bon de s'exercer! Had to cancel the planned flight because of the weather, but we still went for some laps around the field. Always good to practice.

Starting a 747-400ERF's APU for some maintenance actions. Prior to any engine/APU start, we have to run a test by pushing a button in the cockpit, to ensure that the fire detection system works correctly. During this test, the external alarm is also activated. During this video, the test performed well, but the external horn got stuck and rang all the time... The 747-400's APU is a P&W PW901A, ...

So thats why there is holes in the back of the plane
I'd love to know how the opening/closing of the covers is sequenced with the bogie swing? Is that logic purely hydraulic powered, or is there electric in there somewhere?

United 777 wheel falls off and crushes 2 cars in 10 seconds
Haven't they thought about using a hydraulic mule which can easily match the engine driven pumps and even exceed that pressure? Jeez Loise, this video is terrible slow! Also.... God's how I do hate Skydrol!
It's gear, planes have landing gear, not gears. In this case "gear" refers to a set of equipment which is singular. James Foulds gave some examples, as in fishing gear, sports gear, diving gear. The set of gear involved in landing a plane is the wheels, the retractable struts, brakes, and shock absorbers.
That’s a good sound
Need more video about variable guide vanes
Is this how fast they normally retract? It seems so slow.
It's much quicker with all centre pumps working, this may have been with electrical Centre pumps only
@@kinghill4030 Thank you!
A350 is a bit slower

How is no one talking about the A380 takeoff !
I just realized it rotates clockwise like RR
wow the ps4 slim is quiet
Every home needs a turbine APU that starts up in the mornings
airplane wheels on how they are put away after take off and came back out again for landing
Landing gear is always singular. Because it is the gear upon which the airplane alights.
BURrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR 😎
Why does it go slower here than in flight?
Different power source, perhaps APU power. In normal flight hydraulics are driven by the engines and gear retracts faster.
@@Kavilion_The power source in this case is ground electrical power, not APU. On a 777 the center hydraulic system doesn’t use engine driven pumps it has 2 electric pumps and 2 air driven demand pumps. The ADPs put out a much higher flow rate to retract the gear much faster.
Roblox project flight Boeing 777300er real engine sound
Imagine how fast the the poor little gears are turning in the accessory drive.
Yes. APUs are operating with 60 000 rpm. This must reduced down to 3000 rpm to the electric generator and hydraulics.
This is ge90 sound

What if the fan was attached to a motor? Would it still produce enough thrust
Not sure anyone makes an electric motor big enough. Big diesel engine might, but would weigh a lot more and take up way more space.
I am fascinated on how these turning metal plates slow down the aircraft.. can anyone tell me?
The plates, called "blocker door" deflect the secondary air flow (from the Fan) outside of the engine nacelle, slightly forwards, and so helping to slow down the aircraft on landing.
@@jerry150686 aight thanjs
What if the APU is not deployed after the full stop of aircraft?
The aircraft is living on battery. You cannot use the aircondition and other energy hungry systems. During the boardingprocess of an airliner the APU is providing the energy for comfort of the passengers.
Yes, the APU has more power than your poor Chevrolet
the gear is tited horizontally for retraction!
In fact, the gear truck is tilted slightly forward, something like 7 degrees nose down for retraction.
Pretty sure it’s actually so the pilot can get the perfect butter
@@YukariAkiyamaNope, apparently it’s fuel tanks however the 777 gears tilt straight upon retraction.
@@Redpoo227 it’s a running joke that tilted gear is for buttering
@@YukariAkiyama No, the gears dont tilt so the aircraft can land “butter” Tilted gear literally exist before Swiss001 founded the butter landing.

The word is landing gear "trucks" to describe each of these landing gear assemblies.
